This paper was written as a term paper for my class, Law and Economics of Intellectual Property Rights. The goal was to analyze a real public company's most recent form 10-K, and identify two promising and one concerning aspect of how the firm was governing their intellectual property (IP). Being a computer science and economics double major with a keen interest in artificial intelligence, I naturally chose NVIDIA.

What amazed me the most about this project was how NVIDIA's success is centered around their IP governance, specifically, their tight integration of hardware and software. Long-term, I want to climb the ladder of management, and performing this research really opened my eyes to how companies make business decisions. NVIDIA doesn't succeed solely because of good engineering, but because of good economic decision-making.

From a general education and writing perspective, this paper taught me how to be thorough and concise simultaneously. I only had 5 pages to fit an introduction, conclusion, and 3 main points, including analysis from 13 academic sources. This paper performed because I made every word count, and that style of writing shaped how I write today.
